Karachi Fashion Week is Pakistans platform on International Fashion Week circuits joining Paris, Milan, New York, Sydney, London & India. It will provide a unique opportunity for Pakistans Established and Emerging Designers to display their extensive collections to some of the worlds most influential and high ranking buyers and media personnel. This is a platform which encourages the business of fashion, awareness of fashion and infuses new and fresh talent in the industry. The event comprises of Collection Shows, Red Carpet Reception, Designers Suites, Trade Exhibition and Branded Parties. Apart from local participation, we are looking forward to induce international business collaborations by inviting buyers/buying houses, media, trade bodies/commissions and representatives of fashion design councils of UK, Italy, Miami, Malaysia, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, India and UAE this year. The main objective of this event is to encourage the Pakistani designers to use local textiles and crafts in their designs, and to boost the morale of local textile and apparel industry for the benefits of all. Pakistans textile industry is a major contributor to the national economy in terms of exports and employment. We hold the distinction of being the worlds 4th largest producer of cotton as well as being the 3rd largest consumer of the same. In the period July 2007 - June 2008, textile exports were US$ 10.62 Billion and accounted for 55% of the total exports.
